Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Campbell Manuel will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 in the Rush Chapel, Oakdale with Brothers Wallace Ray Millsaps, Nick Peters and Heath Manuel officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mrs. Manuel, 76, of Lafayette entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Lafayette General Hospital.
Betty was a member of Carencro First Baptist Church. She retired from Begnaud Pharmacy in 2005 to care for her husband. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, decorating and gardening. She was known for making the best iced tea in the world. Her passion was cooking and entertaining her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Emma Campbell and two brothers, Billy Wayne Campbell and Donald Campbell. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of sixty years, J. D. Manuel of Lafayette; three sons, Daryl Manuel & his wife, Betty of Montgomery, Texas, Craig Manuel and his life partner, Joey Viator of Lafayette and Todd Manuel and his wife, Belinda of Church Point; one daughter, Kaye Manuel of Lafayette; one sister, Lessie Seaman of Cypress Creek Community; six grandchildren, Heath Manuel, Ben Manuel, Natalia Andrade, April Daigle, Kashlyn Sonnier and Megan Israel and seven great grandchildren, Austin Manuel, Zachary Manuel, Emma Manuel, Miguel Andrade, Maddox Andrade, Gabe Israel and Liam Israel.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, March 12, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
