Shelby Fincher, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Shelby Fincher, Sr. will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the Rush Chapel, Glenmora with Reverends David Ducote and Chris Morris officiating. Burial will be at Butter’s Cemetery next to his wife, Thelma A. Fincher, in Forest Hill. Services are under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Glenmora.

Mr. Fincher, 84, of Forest Hill entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 12, 2012 in Grace Home, Alexandria. He was born on November 6, 1927.

Shelby was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and a native of Forest Hill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Aline Edwards Fincher; one step-son, Rabion Crader and one step-daughter, Una Allen.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include one son, Shelby Fincher, Jr. and his wife, Teena of Forest Hill; one daughter, Joyce Mitchell and her husband, Charlie of Forest Hill; three step-daughters, Bobbie Savage and her husband, Lester of Bunkie, Aline Ryder of Oberlin and Diane Crader of Kinder. Mr. Fincher had fourteen step-grandchildren; thirty-four step-great grandchildren and five step-great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Christopher Savage, Cory Savage, Gregory “Bubba” Vidrine, II, Joshua Vidrine, Nicholas Frazier and Alex Mikolaszuk.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Glenmora on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Friends may post online messages of condolence for the Fincher family by visiting www.rushfh.com
