James Mayo Gaspard

Funeral services for Mr. James M. Gaspard will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville with Rev. Bryan Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Heard Cemetery, Manifest, Louisiana, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mr. Gaspard, age 70, of Lecompte, entered eternal rest on, April 19, 2012 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.

He was a native of Jonesville. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a retired Lieutenant with The Alexandria Police Department for twenty nine years. He also worked with the Alexandria City Court after retiring. He was an avid fisherman. He was also an animal lover.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Inez Gaspard; one brother, Cecil Gaspard; one grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Sober Gaspard of Lecompte; three sons, Mike Gaspard of Glenmora, Sean Webb of Pollock, Scotty Gaspard of Tioga; two daughters, Cheryl Green of Pineville and Stephanie Boudreaux (Edward) of Monroe; two step-sons, Wesley Pollard and Bert Pollard of Lecompte; two step-daughters, Melinda Fee (Jeffery) of Elmer and Felene Morse (James) of Pineville; one brother, David Gaspard of Jonesville; two sisters, Bertha Gallup of Monterey and Shirley Bolin of Jena; twenty nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; also survived by his police family at the Alexandria Police Department.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Honor Guard will be provided by Alexandria City Police.
