Ommie Wallace

Funeral services for Mrs. Ommie Wallace will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Big Hammock Baptist Church, Leander with Reverends B. G. Dyess, Jerry Wallace and Bill Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Hineston under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mrs. Wallace, 85, of Leander, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 7, 2012 in Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria.

Ommie was a member of Big Hammock Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death her parents, John and Lizzie Bounds; one brother, Alfred Bounds and two sisters, Minnie Warren and Lavinia Barton.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of sixty-six years, Elmer Wallace of Leander; two sons - James E. Wallace and his wife, Linda of Farmerville and Ennis W. Wallace and his wife, Dody of Leander; one daughter - Shelia Wallace of Leander; two sisters - Ethel Farmer and Della Thompson, both of Alexandria; five grandchildren - David Wallace of Greenville, South Carolina, Sarah Breen of Charlotte, North Carolina, Apryl Wallace of Deville, Heath Wallace of Leander and Casey Wallace of Deville and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve are David Wallace, Heath Wallace, Casey Wallace, Robert Wilson, Elvis Barton and Rufus Bonnette. Honorary pallbearers will be Trampus Barton and Alan Wallace. Friends may call at Big Hammock Baptist Church, Leander on Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until time of services on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
