Funeral services for Joseph Deward LaFleur will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012 in the Rush Chapel, Oberlin with Deacon Norris Chapman officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in McGee Cemetery, Guy Community under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin.
Mr. LaFleur, 69, of Oberlin, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 9, 2012 in St. Frances Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Oberlin.
Joseph was a skilled woodworker who retired from the USDA. He was on the Allen Parish Fair Board and was active in the Livestock Shows. He was a United States Army Veteran and was active in the Vietnam Veterans’ Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Addison and Lillian LaFleur; one son, Joey LaFleur; one brother and one sister.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-four years, Alice Dubrok LaFleur of Oberlin; two daughters, Miranda King and her husband, Bradley of Ragley and Kelli Manuel and her husband, Kevin of Elton; three grandchildren, Addie King, Maverick and Katie Jo Manuel and several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin on Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m.
A rosary will be recited on Sunday, June 10 at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Veterans’ service at 7:00 p. m.
