Funeral services for Mr. Muriel Leo Mancil will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in Occupy # 2 Baptist Church, Pitkin with Reverend Michael Evans officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Occupy # 2 Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Ptikin.
Mr. Mancil, 80, of Pitkin entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria.
Muriel was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War and served on the U.S.S. Oakhill. He was a member of the Deer Park Masonic Lodge # 1362. He was also a Shriner.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Horace, Isaac, Millard and Irvin Mancil and three sisters, Marilla Willis, Fannie Perkins and Charlotte “Lottie” Thompson. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Mary C. Mancil of Pitkin; two daughters, Donna Lynn Ayling and her husband, David of Friendswood, Texas and Debra Kay Mancil of Clear Lake City, Texas; one brother, Robert Mancil of Longview, Texas and two grandchildren, Erin Christie Ayling and Colleen Elizabeth Ayling.
Friends may call at Occupy # 2 Baptist Church, Pitkin on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
